Today it was time for a discussion between Mom and me again. Can you believe that she left me sitting next to the sink and made all floors all wet? My feet are very delicate and there's a few things they can't stand. Water on the floor. Kibbles touching my toes. People thinking it's funny to tickle my foot when it's up in the air while I'm grooming myself.
Then there was the box and that was the straw that broke the camel's back.
If you can call that a box at all. Just look at me trying to sit in it.
"What the heck is that, Mom?"
"It's a box. You have seen boxes before, haven't you?"
"It's tiny."
"Not everyone has as big a butt as you."
"You take that back!!"
"I didn't put it there for you, anyway. It's just left over from when I scanned photos."
"All boxes are there for me and should be the right size."
"Well, there is a big box in the hallway right now you would fit into twice and you haven't even looked at it. As a matter of fact, none of you has been very interested in boxes at all recently."
"You want to know why? I happened to be informed that other cats - cats that are loved by their people - get much better stuff than we do here."
"What other cats?"
"Mulder."
"You have three cardboard beds and two more that are not even unpacked yet. You have a big bed, two armchairs with fake fur blankets, a couch and a plushy cave. What on Earth could be better than ALL of that?"
"A nest."
That silenced her of course. I mean, just look at that great nest. Space aplenty. Mulder told me that he loves sleeping in it. Mom's sister ordered it just for him. Mom says she ordered something and this was the wrapping, but what does she know?
She'd better up her game if she wants us to stay with her ...

Scratching bed reviews
First of all let me say that instead of getting a third bed - see my last post - we only have one now.
Although I naturally know who was the culprit, I just as naturally won't tell Mom who peed on the second bed. P-E-E-D. Oh yes, big time.
Mom was completely shocked because that's something not one of us four has ever done before. Or after. The bed didn't even last one day and she can't understand it as we really do like the other one. We scratch it, we sleep on it taking turns, not all the time, but often enough to make it worth the money it cost.
Cardboard and pee doesn't go well together, though, so the other one had to go.
Today we have our old pal Mulder here, however. Mulder got his bed soon after we got ours. Mom told me that at first he only sat on it, but then he found out he fit into there perfectly. Sorry for one picture being a bit blurry. I had to include it as it shows Mulder's eyes which got him the nickname "Moon eye" at the vet's (he can do even better than this).
Last time Mom was visiting Mulder's Mom aka her big sister she was told that the interest had worn off quickly. I guess my friend heard that because he decided to go back to his bed right there and then and stay in it. He probably overheard the plans of giving the bed to us if he didn't like it! ;-)
A cat after my own heart. Never do what they expect you to do.

Kitty cats
My my, aren't we a handsome lot?
This is the collage Mom and her sister are using for a card to send to one of their vets who moved away. They didn't get the chance to say goodbye themselves, so they let us do it.
Much better than using pictures of themselves, don't you think?
P.S. Mom said she'd make one resolution for the new year, by the way. She wants to ban the words "Stop that now" from her vocabulary. I wonder if we can make a deal that each time she says it she has to give me a treat or something. I'm quite I'd be rich!

Occupied
Sorry, friends, if you thought you had still a chance to make a reservation for the exclusive luxury box on top of the wardrobe of Mulder's Mom, I have to disappoint you.
The view is excellent from up there, it's quiet and if the window is open, you feel the breeze coming in. 4 stars. If there was a snack bar up there, it would hit the 5 stars easily. Hint, hint, Ms Box Hotel Owner!!
At the moment it seems as if there have been reservations made for at least the next few hours. I hope they can find at least a small time slot for me after that, I'd love to try it out next!

Living in style
Today I want to take you to the new house of my friends Scully and Mulder (who are in charge of Mom's sister and her affairs). Of course you know I am not allowed to leave the premises, so I had to send a correspondent to take pictures.
The house itself is done in a kind of bungalow style. There is one floor and a flat shingled roof. Did you know that bungalow comes from "house in a Bengal style" with the word derived from the Gujarati bangalo?
There is a tiny garden, just the right size for "someone who has not that much of a green thumb" as Mr. Mulder put it.
Unfortunately the architect did not care to add a verandah which caused quite strong emotions in one of the new owners, special cat agent Mulder.
He also found fault with the bungalow being slightly too small for him. As a matter of fact it's impossible for both parties to use it at the same time which doesn't seem to be a problem however as they are on different schedules.
As you can see in the picture, the foundation leaves open a few wishes, but the ventilation is just fine. Ms. Scully loves her rose trellis, though.
Unbelievable, but true is that the bungalow already came with some sort of graffiti, but both Ms. Scully and Mr. Mulder said they didn't mind much.
They found lots of praise for the beautiful old tree coming with the house and pointed out that they both share a love for ornithology and hoped the tree might attract some interesting species.
It was hard for our correspondent to take a look at the inside, so we end this article with a short glance at both inhabitants in their new place (it isn't hard to see that the house was obviously planned for Ms. Scully's needs more than Mr. Mulder's, but as he told us a gentleman wouldn't want it any other way).
You have a new house and want us to post it here? Go ahead, we'll be happy to continue this as a series.

Meet Mulder
Mom's sister is allowed to serve two feline emperors, Scully and Mulder. Even if the names don't suggest it, they are sister and brother. You wouldn't be able to tell at first glance, mind you. Scully is a black girl and Mulder is white with a tabby sweater. Mom keeps saying he didn't put on his sweater right because there's tabby on the left, but not the right front leg. Mulder keeps ignoring her.
Someone he doesn't ignore is Maru. You probably heard of Maru, after all he's a YouTube celebrity. Humans love his videos, but obviously they are not the only ones.
The following is a true story!
Mom and her sister were watching the latest Maru video. Suddenly Mulder jumped up on the table, staring at the computer screen, obviously being fascinated. After a bit he started walking around the computer to take a look behind it. As he found nothing there, he came back and walked around the computer, now taking the other side. What the ... ? Nothing there, either? Wait, maybe under the table! Poor Mulder, he seemed a little confused when there was no cat and no box.
This was not a one of a kind incident. And here's a picture in which you can see his look. He was not planted there, really.
The only other time he ever responded to a cat video was to the one of the "talking cats", but that was probably the sound.
I wonder if he's jealous of all those cool boxes. I know I am!
